My work is my life.

Since 2009 I've tattooed with heart and passion.

Every tattoo is a unique original — no off-the-shelf motifs, but your story.

// FAQ

The most common questions — from inquiry to healing.

Booking & Inquiry

Best via the inquiry form on this page: describe your idea, size and placement and attach reference images if you can. You can also reach me by email (info@darkotattoo.ch) or on Instagram (@darko_tattoo). I'll get back to you personally.

It depends on the current workload and the size of your project. Smaller pieces can often be scheduled at short notice, larger work needs more lead time. I'll tell you the current wait when you inquire.

Yes. For larger projects we discuss the motif, placement and process — in person at the studio or by message — so your design fits exactly before we start.

Absolutely. Bring references, sketches or a rough idea — I'll turn it into a custom design that suits your anatomy and my style. Every piece is a one-off, never a copy.

Price & Deposit

The price depends on size, detail and effort. A minimum charge of CHF 50.– applies; larger work is billed at an hourly rate (CHF 220.–). You'll get a binding estimate once we've discussed your motif.

Yes. A deposit is due to confirm the appointment — between CHF 50.– and CHF 200.–, depending on the size and effort of the motif. It is credited in full toward the final price of your tattoo.

If you cancel or reschedule at least 48 hours in advance, the deposit is kept and carried over to the new date. For short-notice cancellations (under 48 hours) or no-shows it is forfeited; if no deposit was paid, a cancellation fee is charged. See the Appointment & Cancellation Terms for details.

Cash, card and TWINT. The balance is paid right after the session at the studio.

Preparation & Health

Come well-rested and eat beforehand — stable blood sugar helps you through the session. Wear comfortable clothing that gives easy access to the area, and allow enough time.

Please avoid alcohol and blood-thinning medication (e.g. aspirin) for 24 hours before — they increase bleeding and affect the result. Drink plenty of water instead.

18 and over, with valid ID. I don't tattoo minors.

With pregnancy, breastfeeding, certain skin conditions, allergies or chronic illnesses, caution is needed. Please raise these beforehand — when in doubt, check with your doctor. This is not medical advice.

From around an hour for small pieces up to several hours for larger work. Very large projects are split across multiple sessions — we set your pace and breaks together.

Aftercare & Healing

Keep it clean: gently wash with lukewarm water and mild soap, pat dry softly and apply a thin layer of the recommended aftercare. Only touch it with clean hands. You'll get detailed aftercare instructions from me.

The surface usually heals in 2–3 weeks; the deeper skin layers take up to several months. In the first days the tattoo may be red and weep slightly — that's normal.

Avoid direct sun and tanning beds, pools, the sea, sauna and long baths until it's healed. Never scratch or pick the scabs — that can pull out ink and cause scarring.

Sometimes spots heal unevenly. A small touch-up is normal and possible by arrangement. Get in touch once your tattoo is fully healed.
